Four Year Strong, Set Your Goals, Transit, Diamond, Balance and Composure - Dec 30th
I know it’s been well over a month and a half since this show but the review is better late than never.
Although I was super excited for Transit, SYG and FYS to come on, I was a bit ansy through Diamond and Balance & Composure. They were really good; A bit lighter and less pop-punk thank the main bands, but that’s okay. Transit was absolutely amazing. Right from the first second of the first song, the whole crowd was moving. It really got the show going and woke everyone the hell up! Set Your Goals was great and had a ton of energy. Although Jordans mic kind of failed when he went on stage for the first song, other than that, they were pretty good. I loved how they even played “They Few That Remain” despite Hayley not being able to do vocals. Jordan still did pretty well singing her part.
Finally, Four Year Strong came on. EVERYONE was ready and chanting for them to come on. The energy was insane. Although the sound guy did not do them justice, everyones energy in that place made up for it. After they “finished”, everyone was chanting for an encore..finally after 5 minutes (or so it seemed) they came out with a cello, violinist, Alan and Dan on their acoustics & did an acoustic version of “One Step At A Time”. Since it was a holiday show & I believe their families were there, it was a good song (since it’s about his brother who passed away). It was beautifully done and everyone singing a long was great. After that, they played two more songs, the last one being Wasting Time (Eternal Summer). Everyone was clapping and sing/chanting the part at the end, “wasting time, all along you were just wasting mine. ignoring all the signs that point our way out of our prime.” And after everyone just freaked the hell out for the last minute of the song. It was a great way to end the show and end the year. Sucks for everyone who didn’t go because they didn’t like their new album, because they played mostly all old songs except for 2 out of their hour+ long set. I would definitely see them again & I encourage everyone to check all of these bands out on a tour at least once.
